Announcement: Instant Action Open House

Monday, November 9th, 2009

“Come meet InstantAction team members, check out some of our products, and learn how InstantAction is innovating in both the web and gaming industries by bringing the two together!”

Long time Network Redux client, Instant Action, has moved from it’s hometown of Eugene to their new Portland, OR offices!  For those of you who are unfamiliar, Instant Action is an online gaming platform that allows any game to be published and played on the web.  The Instant Action Network resides in our Network Redux Data Centers as well as their development sites and sister site GarageGames.com. The Open House will be at none other than, Ground Kontrol, the perfect venue choice if you ask us.   Local web and game development programmers, technology companies, gamers, and friends of Network Redux are invited to help welcome this awesome company to our city.  FYI, Instant Action will be on the hunt for some new talent, check out all the positions they are hiring for!  Bonus: Products will be on display for you to check out and many of their team members will be there, and games will be played for free!  Did we mention there is an open bar?  We encourage you all to come; the Network Redux team will be there ready to make introductions.

Some Ducks Fly West for the Winter.

Monday, January 14th, 2008

We greatly appreciate the donated resources of our excellent site and code host Network Redux (who most recently added donated rack space and connectivity for our Mac Mini build and testing machine, smew, to the array of services they provide us)…

…The drake Smew, with its ‘cracked ice’ appearance, is unmistakable…

Adium’s new release was developed more quickly by its stellar team (188 Trac tickets closed for v. 1.2!) thanks to their Mac Mini, named Smew, and its new roost at our DC2 facility:

A Birthday and a Datacenter

Saturday, October 6th, 2007

Users have started to take notice on the calm air surrounding our organization, some have started to discuss the current levels of quietness.

September has been an incredibly busy month for our organization, most activity taking place behind the scenes of our public operations.

As many of our customers know, we have been utilizing Time Warner Telecom’s network infrastructure and Datacenter in Portland, Oregon since our inception. While providing excellent facilities and services for our organization, there have been several missing components in the service levels to help carry us forward into service capabilities for aspects of our business which are not present on our public website, Managed Dedicated clusters, load balanced environments, to name a few. With this being said, I am pleased to officially announce the presence of our second datacenter in Portland, Oregon. We have chosen to work with the incredible folks at LightPoint Communications.

This expansion to our internal operations will allow us greater levels of redundancy and service capabilities for our customer base. It is important for us to emphasize a couple of key points:

  • We will continue to maintain and operate our Time Warner Telecom point of presence and facilities.
  • New Customers will continue to see Time Warner Telecom on their traceroutes as the bandwidth in our second datacenter is a multi-homed mesh of multiple carriers (including Time Warner Telecom).
  • When making public notifications at noc.networkredux.net we will specifically reference our Time Warner Telecom facilities as “DC1” and our LightPoint Communication facilities as “DC2.”
  • Should customers have any questions, concerns or general inquiries regarding the opening of our new datacenter, you may post a comment here, or email me directly (thomas @ network redux).

Lastly, we did have a quiet birthday celebrating our third year in business:

A warm thank you to all of our loyal customers who have made this growth and success a reality.
