Behind the scenes we’re working on a big project called “SITE 4″ – which essentially is an overhaul of our existing website. We’re calling it SITE 4 because, well, it’s Network Redux’s 4th iteration of website since first launching back in 2004. Below is a quick scan I pulled from my site planning scratch notes. The big theme with this go ’round is simplification, simplification, simplification.

Last night I attended an event NR was sponsoring called Ignite Portland 8. Baghdad Theatre was the venue:

I walked through the front door with my friend from Thirty1Lengths and we got our wrists stamped:

We then found our marked seats. Thankfully as sponsors we had reserved seats! It was a packed house:

The Ignite 8 were folks were good enough to flash our logo on screen before the show:

As sponsors, we were in good company alongside solid folks such as the Silicon Florist:

It’s a nice touch that the Ignite crew encourages content production and distribution:

#IP8 tags were all over Twitter before, during and after the event (my phone below):

It’s kind of ironic that they instructed us to “silence” our phones. We want you to use them, just turn the ringer off:

And then… speaker #1 took the stage and talked about Infusion techniques:

In total we saw 20 speakers take stage. Each giving 5 minute talks. I’d say allinall, Ignite Portland 8 was a success. Mark you calendars: Ignite Portland 9 will be September 23, 2010.

Great Meeting with Webtrends Today

We had a great strategy meeting with our internet kin @mrdiggles and @davidfrey- visiting us from Webtrends today. We discussed where the web has been and where it could or might be going. Particularly, we talked about businesses and people adapting to changes and adopting transparency and openness on the web. We talked about web hosting and analytics and Ruby on Rails and T shirts and Portland Public Schools and Beer and Blog and Cats and DNS and Favicons and Fake URL’s and a bunch of other web related stuff. Allinall it was great chat and the markers were flying.
